GAME SHOULD HAVE GONE LIKE THIS AT THE END.

This is the game linked to the last article.  Its shows how I should have played Kb1 on move 54.

END GAME DRAW WHICH SHOULD HAVE BEEN A WIN

In the position below, Fritz is white and has just played 54.Ke2, it is now black to play.

In the game I played Kc3, it then played Ke3, the sequence was then repeated and Fritz claimed a draw by repetition.

I was not disappointed as I genuinely thought it was a drawn position.

It is not a draw, it is a win for black but I failed to see the winning method.

Tried to post  game below which shows how the endgame should have been played but just cannot get it to post at the minute.

I just could not see that it was needful for black to move away to b1 or b2???

I wonder how many club players would have managed to find the win from the position above?

THIS SEEMS LIKE AN APPROPRIATE TUNE AT THE MINUTE

Had a quick look at that Chess.com post about alleged "chess-cheating," it seems to be generating lot`s of comments!

Thought this was a appropriate tune, suitable for the occasion.

I did read an article somewhere quite recently where someone said, "Cheating will not kill Chess but the paranoia it generates will kill Chess."

LOOKS LIKE THIS STORY WILL RUN AND RUN FOR A WHILE

Just read an article on Chess.com about "Chess cheating."

It looks like a story which will run and run for quite a while.

Personally speaking, I suspect "Chess cheating" is widespread on probably all the online sites.

It would be a very rare thing for me to play online nowadays, as I can hardly win a game.

The strange thing is, I can regularly get a rating which qualifies for a "Candidate Master" title from Fritz 14 when I play 25 minute time control games, in Fritz rated play mode.

Plus, on a number of occasions I have actually scored a rating which qualifies for a "Fide Master" title from Fritz 14.

Fritz has now reset itself but it keeps the title award from the last set of games.  Sometimes it lets me play a couple of hundred games before it automatically resets, at other times it may reset after about 30 games.

I keep the playing strength at a setting of 2398.

Danny Mallaghan and myself were just talking about online chess a few weeks ago, He was saying he finds it hard to win games as well.

On the very first day, the principal of the Bible college announced that they had found evidence of cheating during exams, which had taken place at the end of the last College year.

They had to start whole inquiry in order to sort the matter out!

When you get cheating going on in a Bible College, you can be sure it is going on in a widespread fashion in the rest of society.

CONGRATULATIONS TO MULDOON`S

Received the news that Muldoon`s had won the first division again, when I ran into Danny Mallaghan last week.

I see the news  is now posted on the UCU site.

This is the picture from last year, this year the order is reversed.
